Dark Chocolate

Hello!

I am Valerie, the other contributer to this blog. Today I will be introducing a restaurant I went the other day for my friend's birthday........Delicious!

This is the decor of the restaurant.... white trees with white bird cages that look like lanterns... Personally I do not like this part of the decoration... makes me think of winter, cold and death. But on the plus side, they have long seats with a lot of colourful cushions. This gives a more life to the place.

The service is slightly above average to me. One thing I noticed is that my water glass is never empty throughout the whole meal. It is nice to not have to call for the waiter to refill it all the time. And when the my friend's birthday cake came out, most of the staff sang 'Happy birthday' along with us. What fell short was smiles and warmth.... something felt missing from their service.

I ordered Smoked salmon angelhair, tossed in cream, served with caviar and parsley. It was lovely!!! My friends would know that I seldom give compliments to pastas but this one deserves it. The cream was not too strong, just giving it a light milky feel (mix the noodles properly before eating to avoid dry areas). The smoked salmon was great. It taste like fresh salmon with all the flavour concentrated. Some smoked salmon loses the salmon taste but this one does not. At first i was sceptical of the small bits of salmon but the strong flavour with the light creamy sauce and angelhair is a good combination.

I cannot comment on the caviar because this is the first time I've tried it... nothing to compare it to. The parsley is supplies colour and not too strong taste that will cover the other flavours. Overall I am quite impressed with this dish.

After weighing the pros and cons ... i threw caution (and my weight machine) out the window and ordered a glass of strawberry shake! And I did not regret it one bit. This is the first time I found a milk shake that is up to expectation... it's thick enough that the straw can stand on it's own and it's does not have the overly sweet and artificial taste.

However, there is one dish called 'four cheese' (i took a taste from my friend) which is absolutely horrible. It has pasta and four types of cheeses. It is put in a ceramic bowl and baked. The dish was way over done. The pasta has turned mush and ugh... it is just too bad to describe.... even if you love cheese, this dish is too much.

The restaurant has their own website with location and even their menu. So check it out if you want to try it: http://www.delicious.com.my/

Muaks,
Val

P/s - if you are wondering why i have dark chocolate in my pocket, it was the present for the birthday girl :D

Labelized~

Yesterday I bid my parents safe journey and farewell~ for they will go Vietnam for 5 days.

Leaving me and my older brother alone in charge of the house, any mommy would be worried. But then again, mommies can always trust their children to take care of themselves and the house :)

But... this is how much my mom trust me and my bro with the house :D

Labels of instructions are everywhere! XD lols
to keep us from burning her house down, spoiling her things, starving the fish and thirsting the plants, feeding the lizards and roaches, inviting the thieves and lalalalalalala~ :D

That's how caring my mom is. My mommy is the best XDXDXD

P.S. i'm 21 and my bro is 25. wahahaha

The Legendary Golden Fried Rice

Ever heard of the legendary Golden Fried Rice (aka wong kam chau fan)? Not so legendary now! Hah! Today I shall show you this recipe of Cheese Golden Fried Rice...
WARNING: non halal food picture ahead :p

Serving for 1 person, you'll need:

1 egg (beated)
half an onion or whole if u like (chopped or half a ring)
1 slice of cheddar cheese (cut to bite size)
rice
sausages/ham/any meat that you fancy (cut to bite size)
salt and pepper
seasoning powder(optional)

Let's start of by heating up the oil...

Once the oil is hot (test it with a wooden chopstick if u're not sure, bubbles should gather around the wood material if it's hot), in goes the sausages and bacons. I would suggest using sausages or ham coz you don't need to marinate them and they taste good on their own :D
When the meats are cooked 80-90%, in goes the onions.
Fry till the onions are cooked or slighly softer. Then scoop it all on a plate and set aside. Keep the fire going and we shall fried the rice. Yes. Fried the rice alone. What's fried rice if you don't actually fry it? ;)

Just fry the rice alittle. And here comes the legendary golden fried rice. Spread the rice evently then pour in the beated egg mixed with salt and pepper for taste. Stir and flip the rice around so each grain of rice is covered with eggy goodness :D

Fry the rice till the eggs are half cooked, then pour those meat and onions back into the pan. Mix around, then lay cheeses into it.

Fry till the cheese meltz~ scoop back to the plate and tadaaaa~! Cheese Golden Fried Rice is served :)

If you prefer it with a saltier, just add in some seasoning powder or chicken essense powder. Don't add in too much as the cheese itself taste slightly salty. As for me I like the original taste of egg, sausages, onions and cheese!

Ashley munching happily~
